Definitions & Tid Bits
Electronic Files - Files you provide. Can be sent via e-mail, or provided on CD or Flash. Please refer to Before you order page, or contact us before placing on order.
Photo Manipulation – Digital editing done to pictures to change the appearance of the original picture.
Photo Restoration – Taking a damaged photo and scanning it into the computer and making repairs to the picture to make it look close to the original.
DPI - Dots per inch – measure of resolution of input devices such as scanners, display devices such as monitors, and output devices such as printers and monitors.
Vector - the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and polygons, which are all based upon mathematical equations to represent images in computer graphics.
PMS – Pantone Matching System - a color system used to identify colors by name or number, allowing for a specific color of ink to be used in printing.
CMYK – Abbreviation for cyan, magenta, yellow and black, otherwise know as process colors.
Bitmap (*.bmp) – An image represented by an array of picture elements, each of which is encoded as a single binary digit.
JPEG Image (*.jpg, *.jpeg) – joint photographic experts group. The compression scheme based on the lossy compression algorithm that is a de facto standard on the internet.
TIFF – tagged image file format. A popular file format for exchanging bitmapped images between application.

Service Specifications Resolution
Recommended saved images and designs should be at least : Digital Picture - 240dpi
Scanned Pictures - 300dpi
